The flagship. The one everything else grew out of.

What it is

Patchwork tracks who's fronting and when, keeps a browsable history, and lets trusted friends see how you're doing β€” encrypted, privately β€” without you having to explain it fresh every time. It's the app the rest of the Applaud suite grew out of, and the only one fully live today.

How it works

  1. Log or edit a fronting entry β€” the current front, or a correction to the timeline.
  2. Everything is encrypted client-side (AES-256-GCM) before it ever leaves the device.
  3. Friends you've approved can see an encrypted view of your status via a hybrid RSA-OAEP + AES exchange β€” the server only ever handles ciphertext.
  4. A stealth mode swaps the whole app for a fake Minecraft mod wiki, instantly, if you need to hide what you're using.

Why it exists

The problem

Other system-tracking apps kept shutting down because the person running them burned out or ran out of money β€” twice, for tools this community relied on. Patchwork runs on hardware Faen owns (a Raspberry Pi 5, not a rented company server), specifically so a maintainer burning out can't take the app with them.

β€œDon't let this die a third time.”

Under the hood

Started as a native Kivy/pywebview app, then pivoted fully to a self-hosted progressive web app.
